Getting around

There is limited cell phone service in and around Michaux State Forest. Be sure to download the directions which are emailed to you before your reservation. We do have Starlink WiFi at the cabin.

My husband and I are huge history buffs and love walking the Gettysburg battlefield. When the opportunity to purchase the cottage came about we jumped on it. Now we have a place to retreat to in a town which is special to us.

Absolutely no pets. We are highly allergic to dogs.

With 3 queen beds and 1 bathroom the maximum number of guests we can accommodate is 6, sorry, no exceptions.

House Rules

We are easygoing people and want you to have a restful, stress free stay with us. However, there are rules in place to protect our property and make a comfortable stay for every guest.

NO parties or gathering events

NO fireworks

No Visitors other than guests on the booking without prior approval from host before booking.

ABSOLUTELY NO smoking or narcotics on the premises. NO smoking in the cabin, on the front porch or in the backyard. If we see evidence of smoking it is immediate grounds for removal from the property without a refund.

NO pets of any kind. I am highly allergic to dogs. We have this policy to protect my health and our other guests who suffer from allergies. There are many pet friendly accommodations in the area.

NO loud music or disturbance to neighbors. They live here permanently, and we want to maintain a good relationship with them.

Please understand the cabin is in the woods and not far from Mountain Creek. We have a monthly pest control service, but you may see a bug or two inside the cabin at times, especially if the doors are left open for long periods of time. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. Thus, we do not refund if you encounter them during your stay.

Host is not responsible for any items left by the guests. It is the guest's financial responsibility to cover the cost of shipping any item left in the home.

Payment Policy

Renter is responsible for paying the 3.49% fixed credit card fee.

Damage Deposit Policy

As a security deposit alternative, Houfy Protect, an upfront nonrefundable low cost property damage protection policy for just $5 per night, is taken at time of booking.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations at least 7 days prior to check-in will be refunded 100%. Cancellations 4-6 days prior to check-in will be refunded 50%. Any cancellations less than 4 days prior to check-in there will be no refund given. There are no refunds for late check-in, early departures, or reduction of nights reserved after check-in.

Notes

We require our rental agreement to be filled out and signed, as well as a picture of your driver's license.
